BLAKE MUNDELL

Though originally a Colorado native, Blake has called Nashville home since 2007. After graduating from Belmont University in 2010 and fulfilling his dream of becoming a professional songwriter and touring musician, he went back to school at Mind Body Institute to study massage therapy with the intent to work on athletes and graduated with top marks in 2013.

In 2014, he was hired by the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League, where he continues to serve on the team's medical staff after ten seasons.

Although football injuries have become his bread and butter, he's also well-acquainted with the needs of athletes from various other backgrounds, including the MLB, NHL, NCAA, UFC, the Nashville Ballet and the Rockettes, Iron Man competitors, and weekend warriors of all kinds. In addition to his practice, Blake also teaches as an instructor of Anatomy and Physiology, Ethics, and Clinical Concepts at his alma mater, Mind Body Institute.

After witnessing the impact that traumatic sports injuries can have on not only the tissues in an athlete’s body, but on the athlete’s psyche and nervous system, Blake decided to begin training in Somatic Experiencing —a trauma therapy modality focused on building awareness of sensations in the body to facilitate healing from trauma.

Blake is always looking for opportunities to learn and grow in his practice, and most enjoys working alongside clients willing to collaborate to meet their goals. Though old-fashioned soft tissue work will always be Blake's focus, he is also trained in Kinesiotaping , traditional glass cupping and acucupping , IASTM , and Fascial Stretch Therapy , and he utilizes these tools in session as needed. Having grown up a three-sport athlete himself—an all-state athlete and team captain in football, basketball, and baseball—he understands the demands that come with being a competitor. When he isn’t helping people achieve their health and performance goals, you’re likely to find him hopping around Nashville’s beach volleyball circuits or playing at your favorite local music venue.
